Sofia Vergara, the 51-year-old actress renowned for her work in “Modern Family,” has recently expressed her affection for her new partner, Dr. Justin Saliman. The charming orthopedic surgeon has been by her side as she recovers from a recent knee operation.
“If you ever need to go through a major knee surgery, ensure you have a good-looking doctor who will stay with you overnight!” she wrote on her Instagram account.
The duo began their romance in October, shortly after Vergara ended her seven-year marriage with actor Joe Manganiello.
Vergara and Manganiello, best known for his role in “Magic Mike,” announced their separation in July 2023.
“We have taken the difficult decision to part ways,” they declared in a mutual statement. “As two individuals who deeply love and respect each other, we humbly ask for privacy as we embark on this new phase of our life.”
The former pair parted ways due to their conflicting views on starting a family.
“He desired to have children, but I didn’t want to be an old mother,” Vergara unveiled in an interview with El País. “I feel it’s unfair to the child.”
Manganiello has since officially started a new relationship with Caitlin O’Connor. The “Spider-Man” star and O’Connor are now cohabiting.
The judge of “America’s Got Talent” is already a mother to 32-year-old son Manolo, from her previous marriage to Joe Gonzalez.
Saliman was previously married for a decade to actress Bree Turner, 47, and they share two children. They divorced in 2018.
Vergara announced her new relationship with Saliman last October, three months after her separation from Manganiello.
It’s unclear why Vergara needed to undergo surgery on her knee. However, she shared her recovery process on Instagram, showing her appreciation for her doctor turned boyfriend.
“Love you Dr @jdsaliman,” she posted with a heart emoji.
Representatives for Vergara did not immediately respond to requests for a comment. It’s evident that the actress wishes to keep this part of her life private.
Manganiello and Vergara finalized their divorce in February, the same month he moved in with his new girlfriend, O’Connor.
