The New York Mets have faced a significant setback in their early season, with Tylor Megill being the latest addition to the injured list.

Megill, a crucial part of the Mets’ starting rotation, was placed on the 15-Day Injured List due to a right shoulder strain. This unfortunate incident occurred during his start at Citi Field, leading to his removal after only four innings.

Reed Garrett, a right-handed pitcher, was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse to fill Megill’s roster spot. Megill’s injury is a second hit to the Mets’ starting rotation, following Kodai Senga’s capsule strain on his right shoulder.

The Mets have had a turbulent opening to their season, with a home sweep by the Brewers and an upcoming match against the undefeated Tigers. Further adding to their woes is the team’s shaky offense, with key players like Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Lindor, and Jeff McNeil falling short of expectations.

“The team’s offense has also looked shaky, with key cogs Brandon Nimmo, Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil going a combined 3-for-36 with one walk and seven strikeouts in the three losses.”
