Reports suggest that British actor Aaron Taylor-Johnson has been handed the golden opportunity to step into the shoes of the iconic secret agent James Bond. According to sources, the actor, known for his role in “Bullet Train”, is set to pen down the agreement this week.
The quest for the next James Bond seemingly concludes with Aaron Taylor-Johnson, the 33-year-old British actor. The actor, who is known for his roles in movies like “Bullet Train”, has been reportedly given the golden opportunity to portray the legendary martini-loving secret agent on-screen.
Should Aaron accept this offer, he will be taking over from Daniel Craig, who held the Bond character for over 15 years, spanning across five films. Craig was in his 30s when he first signed up for the role. His journey as Bond started with “Casino Royale” in 2006 and concluded with “No Time To Die” in 2021.
“Bond is Aaron’s job if he chooses to accept it,” an insider revealed to The Sun. The formal offer has been made, and the production house awaits his response. The insiders at EON Productions, the company behind the 007 films, are hopeful that Taylor-Johnson will sign the contract soon, and they can begin preparations for the big reveal.
Taylor-Johnson’s journey in the film industry has been nothing short of fascinating. He landed his first significant role in the British coming-of-age comedy “Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging” in 2008. He then portrayed a young John Lennon in “Nowhere Boy” in 2009 and later appeared in prominent films like “Kick-Ass”, “Anna Karenina”, “Godzilla”, “Nocturnal Animals”, and “Tenet”.
Interestingly, Taylor-Johnson had undergone a screen test for the Bond franchise back in 2022. When asked about it last week, he expressed his gratitude for being considered for the role. “I find it charming and wonderful that people see me in that role. I take it as a great compliment,” he said.
A source close to the matter stated, “Taylor-Johnson may not be the best known in his field but he is an incredibly talented actor. His role in Nocturnal Animals showcased his depth as an actor. He is the perfect person to play Bond and will pick up well from where Daniel left off.”
If things go as planned, Taylor-Johnson will be seen sharing the screen with Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt in the upcoming action-comedy “The Fall Guy” later this year.
