Sessi Fake Diplomatic Plates

Florida’s law enforcement recently had an unexpected encounter with the Latin singer, Cecilia Selina Mercado, known by her stage name, Sessi. The incident, which involved her alleged use of counterfeit diplomatic plates, took an unexpected turn and has garnered significant attention.

Sessi was driving her Audi Q5 when she was pulled over by the Sunny Isles Beach police for a traffic violation. However, the regular traffic stop escalated quickly when she presented her passport instead of a driver’s license, claiming to have ‘immunity’, according to Local 10.

The encounter, caught on camera by Sessi’s passenger, Scott Huss, showed an officer holding her arm and asking her to step out of the car. Huss can be heard yelling, “Please bring your supervisor now. You’re reaching inside our vehicle. I feel threatened!”

As the heated exchange continued, Huss insisted that the police had no jurisdiction over Sessi, claiming that she was not a United States citizen. He also warned the officers they would lose their jobs and that Sessi would receive $250,000.

Despite the warnings, the situation escalated when Sessi refused to comply with the officers’ requests. She was forcibly removed from the vehicle and placed in handcuffs.

The officers asserted that things would not have escalated had Sessi complied with their requests. In response, the singer claimed she did comply by providing her passport.

Sessi informed the officers that her vehicle was registered with the US Department of State. However, upon checking her plates, the police discovered that the plates, which claimed she was a “diplomat,” were fake.

The police department issued a statement saying, “The female driver shown in the video was stopped by our officers for traffic violations. She then stated she had ‘immunity.’ She repeatedly refused to comply with officers’ orders and was placed in handcuffs.”

Sessi was released on a $2,500 bond. When confronted about the fake plates, she maintained that they were legitimate, stating, “They are not fake. They are completely registered to my private trust and my private vehicle which, by law, I am allowed to have a vehicle under a trust.”

She is now facing charges for having a counterfeit registration, license plate, or sticker on a motor vehicle.

Interestingly, Sessi’s boyfriend, Andres Lopez-Escobar, who picked her up from jail, was also pulled over for driving a car with fake diplomatic plates.

He was arrested after refusing to open the car window, resulting in the police having to bust open the driver’s window. He now faces charges for driving without a valid driver’s license, having a counterfeit license plate, motor vehicle registration, or sticker, and resisting an officer without violence.

Following the incident, Sessi took to Instagram to share her side of the story with her 195,000 followers. She claimed that people were spreading “false things” about her and emphasized her contributions to her community.

“I will not give up and stand my ground too many things going on this world especially me, I have been such a community girl and so good to my community… not okay! I have family in NYC police department.”
