In the wake of the recent trade involving Zach Wilson, the Denver Broncos are reportedly showing interest in the promising NFL draft prospect, Bo Nix.
The Broncos are reportedly not done strengthening their quarterback lineup. According to reports from NFL insider Albert Breer, the team has been “silently” exploring the potential of Oregon QB Bo Nix.
Albert Breer, a respected NFL insider, reported on Tuesday that the Broncos had been discreetly looking into the possibility of acquiring Oregon QB Bo Nix. This news comes on the heels of the Broncos securing Zach Wilson, the former second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft, in a deal with the Jets.
Bo Nix, a standout quarterback from Oregon, is one of the many promising talents in this year’s NFL draft.
Denver, after incorporating Zach Wilson into their quarterback roster, held a one-hour Zoom meeting with Nix on March 7. A contingent led by coach Sean Payton followed this up with a visit to Eugene, Oregon on March 18, as per Breer’s report.
The interest from the Broncos is evident, but their ability to move up might be restricted due to the absence of a second-round selection to bargain with.
The Broncos have been extensively researching the quarterback position ahead of this week’s NFL draft and have already met or held visits with some top-tier players in the position.
They have conducted meetings with LSU’s Jayden Daniels, attended North Carolina’s Drake Maye’s pro day, facilitated a private workout for Michigan’s J.J. McCarthy, and hosted Michael Penix Jr. from Washington for a top-30 visit.
Zach Wilson, who was recently traded to the Broncos from the Jets, was a significant disappointment for Gang Green. He failed to evolve into the franchise quarterback that the Jets had envisioned him to be.
Wilson now joins a quarterback group in Denver that includes notables like Jarrett Stidham and Ben DiNucci.
