George Floyd: reading of Derek Chauvin’s sentence postponed to June 25

The reading of the sentence of former police officer Derek Chauvin, who was found guilty in the United States for the murder of African American citizen George Floyd, was postponed until June 25, according to court data. According to the Associated Press (AP), the final hearing for the former Minneapolis, Minnesota, police officer was scheduled for June 16, but a change in schedules was introduced that postponed the sentence. Although there is no apparent reason, court spokesman Spenser Bickett said the change was based on a timing conflict. Chauvin, 45, was convicted last week on three counts that targeted him.
