A shooting on the streets of Miami has left one person dead and another seriously injured, according to reports from a brave witness who witnessed the chilling events. The incident reportedly involves Hispanic victims.
The witness, whose identity remains anonymous for fear of reprisals, said he was near a window when he witnessed the attack. According to his shocking statements, an individual shot at the victims, who were inside an SUV. The bullet holes were visible on the doors and windows of the vehicle, which was stranded on the side of the road.
An attempt had also been made to attack the same people the previous night, suggesting a dark undercurrent to this disturbing incident.
After the alleged attacker left the scene, the witness ran to help the victims. Despite the initial fear of a possible armed confrontation, the witness opened the car door and was met with heartbreaking scenes. The driver was dying, while the passenger, who was shot in the head, was conscious but in critical condition.
The witness, in a desperate attempt to save lives, applied pressure to the wound with a towel while they waited for the rescue services to arrive. Authorities have confirmed that one of the victims died at the scene, while the other was taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital in serious condition.
Miami-Dade police detained an individual at the scene, and although it is believed that he may know the victims, their relationship has not yet been confirmed. Another person was detained and is being questioned in connection with the shooting.
