Caught on Camera: Two Brothers Arrested for Throwing Waste and Debris at a Miami-Dade Public Place

Two twin brothers who were caught on camera allegedly throwing appliances, furniture and other items out of a truck in a public place are facing charges, county officials said.

The incident happened last July and led to the brothers’ arrest for what is considered a felony, a Miami-Dade Department of Solid Waste Management (DSWM) official said Wednesday.

An officer with the department’s Special Investigations Unit was monitoring a camera and saw three men removing items from a truck and throwing them.

The officer called Miami-Dade police, who responded to the scene, where the truck driver admitted to throwing the waste, the officer said.

The driver and another of the men, who is his twin brother, were arrested. The third subject who was not found at the site is the younger brother of both.

The officers did not reveal their identities.

“This situation is unfortunate, but these two brothers have learned a hard lesson,” said Olga Espinosa-Anderson, acting director of DSWM. “Illegal dumping is a serious crime in Miami-Dade County, and if you do it, you will face a serious penalty.”

These crimes can be punished with fines, seizure of vehicles and arrests, the authorities recalled.
