It is worth noting that Fluminense and Inter already crossed paths this year for the Brasilerao, and the victory belonged to Flu 2-0, with a scoring appearance by the Argentine Germán Cano.
Regarding cup history, they faced each other in the round of 16 of the 2012 Libertadores, with Flu advancing to the quarterfinals thanks to the 0-0 away score and the 2-1 score at home.
