Sports Writing, Aug 13 (EFE).- The Australian Cameron Smith achieved this Sunday and incontestably his third title in the LIV Golf by winning the tournament played since Friday in Bedminster (United States).
Smith, champion of the British Open in 2022, won at Trump National Golf Club with 201 total shots (12 under par) and three rounds of 66, 67 and 68.
The Australian, who won in Chicago in 2022 and this year in London, beat Indian Anirban Lahiri by seven shots and Mexican Abraham Ancer, American Patrick Reed and South African Dean Burmester by eight.
The also Mexican Carlos Ortiz and the Chilean Joaquín Niemann finished with -2, the also Mexican Carlos Ortiz with the pair, another Chilean Mito Pereira, with +1, and the Spaniards Sergio García and David Puig did it with +3.
By teams, Smith’s team won, the ‘Ripper GC’, completed by his compatriots Marc Leishman, Matt Jones and Jediah Morgan. Finishing behind were the ‘Crushers GC’ led by the American Bryson DeChambeau and the ‘HiFlyers GC’ led by the also American Phil Mickelson.
