The new Vision Pro of Apple, its new augmented reality glasses, have arrived with the promise of bringing about a change in the world of technological devices. Now, this idea had already been advanced almost 20 years ago by Steve Jobs.

What Jobs said in 2005 was about the concept of creating a “video headset”, and what he was referring to was the virtual reality glassesso called today.

It was during the D3 conference of The Wall Street Journal, where Steve spoke of the potential of audio headphones, calling it “miraculous”, and adding that there is no such thing but for video.

The fundamental problem here is that headphones are something of a miracle. You put your headphones on and have the same experience as if you had a huge pair of speakers.” And he added “there is nothing like some video headset. There’s not something that I can take with me that I can put on and give me the same experience as when I’m looking at, I don’t know, a 50-inch plasma that I have in my house.

However, one of the journalists replies that something like the “giant glasses you can wear”, pointing to the virtual reality headsets of that time.

But, both agree that they are not comfortable enough, so it is not exactly what they wanted.

However, this situation managed to change, since “One of Apple’s maxims when developing the Vision Pro has been comfort and above all reduce its bulkiness to the maximum”so informs .

As the media points out, “it is simply fascinating” that Steve Jobs made that prediction almost 20 years before they finally came to light.
