WARNING: The following note contains SPOILERS of The Flash.
The next DC movie FlashIt is one of the most anticipated releases of the year. Not only because of what it will mean for the future of the DC film franchise, but because it promises to be full of surprises for fans. For example, we already know that Michael Keaton will play Batman, just as he did in the 1989 and 1992 movies. And now, the director Andy Muschietti has just confirmed a long-rumored cameo that is sure to get a lot of people excited.
Who will be in that special cameo in Flash?
In Flash, we will witness how Barry Allen (Ezra Miller) will travel through time and alternate lines of reality while trying to rescue his mother from death. It is with these elements that the film will be able to present different versions of our favorite superheroes on the screen, such as Keaton and his Batman or Kara (Sasha Calle) as a Supergirl in a world without Clark Kent.
Now we know that also we will witness an alternative version of “The Man of Steel”thanks to an interview that the Argentine filmmaker had with esquire. And apparently, it is a promising cameo, as this is how Muschietti expressed himself:
“I have dreamed all my life of working with him.. I hope she can work with him again soon. He is a big fan of Superman. A comic book fan.”
So who will we see play the Last Son of Krypton? Well, nothing more and nothing less than… Nicolas Cage!
“Nic was absolutely amazing. Although the role was a cameo, he gave himself up to it.said the director.
Why is it exciting that Nicolas Cage appears in Flash?
That’s right, you read that right, Nicolas Cage (Renfield: Vampire Wizard) will be in Flash, playing Superman. Why is it so exciting? Because around 1998 a film was going to be produced, directed by Tim Burton, in which Cage would play that same role. However, the one that would be called Superman Lives it was canceled and we never got to witness that version of the superhero.
It must have been a disappointment for the actor too, considering his love for Superman. In fact, he named one of his sons Kal-El. He long ago commented to Variety that he wasn’t sure why the film was cancelled, although he thinks perhaps the studio, Warner Bros., was afraid that the outcome of the feature film would be similar to that of Martians to attack!also directed by Burton.
“Love Martians to attack!. I think that Martians to attack! It was a fantastic and innovative film. (Tim Burton) is an innovator! But they were scared in the studio because Martians to attack!. Warner Brothers had lost a lot of money on the film. These movies that are really weird, that challenge and innovate, annoy a lot of people. I think they got scared. They had already spent a lot of money building sets and on costumes. But you never know. I don’t mean to be cryptic, but you never know!” he said at the time.
Whatever the case, we will finally see Nicolas Cage as the legendary Kryptonian superhero, Superman. thanks to Flash.
