Culiacán, Sinaloa.- The soprano from Culiacan Jessica Torrerothe baritone Cristian Pridathe mezzo-soprano Estefania Silva and the tenor Jaquez Kingsactive members of the Sinaloa Opera Workshop, are competing in the XL Carlo Morelli National Singing Competitionin which the first of them already obtained their pass to the second stage.

Aspirants

The Contest takes place in three stages: Eliminatory tests on Monday, May 22 and Tuesday, May 23 in the Manuel M. Ponce Hall of the Palacio de Bellas Artes; semifinal test on Wednesday 24 in said room; Zarzuela test on Monday 22, and the grand finale and award ceremony will be on Saturday, May 27 at 7:00 p.m. in the Main Hall of the Palacio de Bellas Artes.

The Sinaloa Opera Workshop is an artistic company attached to the Sinaloan Institute of Culture, as a response to the need to develop the artistic careers of young lyrical singers in the country, through a series of courses aimed at enhancing their artistic qualities through subjects such as vocal technique, repertoire preparation, acting, languages ​​and body language.

It is directed by the tenor Jose Manuel Chu, and is currently made up of sopranos Jessica Torrero, Claudia Puebla, Miroslava Aguilar and Gabriela Zazueta; the mezzo-soprano Estefanía Silva and Michelle Flores; the tenors Alexander Torres, Antonio Arrubarrena and Jaquez Reyes; and the baritones Leoncio Luna, Cyan Rangel and Cristian Prida.

This contest is already a tradition within the operatic work of Mexico, in order to offer Mexican lyrical singers the opportunity to make their talent known and receive, perhaps, a stimulus that will allow them to promote their artistic development.

For the directors of the contest, it is extremely important to continue promoting Mexican interpreters.
