The Argentines Juan Manuel Cerúndolo, Facundo Bagnis, Camilo Ugo Carabelli, Thiago Agustín Tirante, Andrea Collarini, Santiago Rodríguez Taverna and Renzo Olivo prevailed today in their respective commitments for the first round of the preliminary qualification for the Roland Garros Tennis Open, second Grand Slam of the season, which will begin next Sunday in Paris, France.

Juan Manuel Cerúndolo from Buenos Aires, located in 104th place in the ATP world ranking, beat American Zachary Svajda (222) 7-6 (7-4) and 6-3 in the initial round of the qualy, after 1 hour and 35 game minutes.

Armstrong’s Santa Fe, Facundo Bagnis (124), beat Luciano Darderi (179), a native of the city of Villa Gesell and naturalized Italian, 6-3, 6-4 after 1 hour and 42 minutes of play.

Meanwhile Camilo Ugo Carabelli (150), also born in the City of Buenos Aires, defeated the Japanese

Kaichi Uchida (154) by 6-3, 1-6 and 6-3, after 1 hour and 49 minutes of contention.

For his part, Thiago Agustín Tirante (153) from La Plata defeated Australian Rinky Hijikata (136) 6-3, 6-2, in 1 hour and 24 minutes of confrontation.

In turn, the American nationalized Argentine Andrea Collarini (192) beat the Belgian Joris De Loore (189) 6-2 and 6-4, after 1 hour and 26 minutes of meeting.

While the Pilarense Santiago Rodríguez Taverna (243) eliminated the experienced Portuguese Joao Sousa (258) 6-2, 3-6 and 7-6 (10-8), after 2 hours and 22 minutes of play.

Finally, Renzo Olivo (259) from Rosario needed 2 hours and 19 minutes to beat Ecuadorian Emilio Gómez (117) 6-7 (4-7), 6-3, 6-3 in the qualifying debut.

Tomorrow, other Argentines will appear in the previous classification of Roland Garros.

Facundo Díaz Acosta (137) from Buenos Aires will play against the Italian nationalized Franco Agamenone (166); Nicolás Kicker (197), from Buenos Aires from Merlo, will face the British Jan Choinski (177).

Mariano Navone (219), born in the Buenos Aires town of 9 de Julio, will face the Slovak Lukas Klein (133), Juan Pablo Ficovich (223), a native of Berazategui, will play against the Dutch Gijs Brouwer (138).

The Bragadian Genaro Alberto Olivieri (227) will face the Swiss Henri Laaksonen (213); and finally, Federico Delbonis (236) from Azul will face Colombian Nicolás Mejía (234).

On the other hand, among the ladies, they will appear in the first round of the qualy two Argentines.

María Lourdes Carlé (149), born in the Buenos Aires city of Daireaux, will play with the American Caroline Dolehide (99); while the Sunchalense Paula Ormaechea (184) will face the French Elsa Jacquemot (175).
