What is a chebula?

Chebula almond (Terminalia chebula) is a tree that can be found in the tropical areas of South and Southeast Asia. Almond tree produces fruits that appear in cosmetics under various names, such as: chebula, harde, haritaki. They have been used in Ayurvedic medicine for centuries. Their protective effect on the body is so strong that the inhabitants of Tibet call them the “king of medicines”.

Chebuli fruits have antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antiviral, anti-allergic, detoxifying and regenerative properties. First of all, they are used to improve digestive functions, in the prevention and treatment of liver and stomach diseases, and in the treatment of diabetes. To a lesser extent, the valuable effect of chebula extracts on the skin, especially aging and causing problems, is used.

How does chebula work on the skin?

Rejuvenates

Chebula almond extracts have an anti-aging effect thanks to the presence of antioxidants, the power of which is estimated to be higher than that of vitamin E. Antioxidants (antioxidants) fight free radicals that damage healthy cells, thus slowing down the aging process of the skin. Chebula supports regeneration, brightens discolorations, moisturizes the skin. Its presence in cosmetics improves smoothing of the skin and the reduction of small wrinkles.

Detoxifies

Because chebula contains strong antioxidants, it should appear in the care of people living in cities. Polluted air, which prevails in many of them, accelerates the aging process of the body, including the skin. Chebula protects against such changes by detoxifying and reducing the harmful effects of pollutants on the skin.

Treats acne

Chebula has, among others, strong anti-inflammatory, antibacterial, antifungal and antioxidant properties, which improve the condition of problematic skin. Cosmetics with the content of the almond fruit extract are recommended primarily in the care of oily and acne skin. They have antibacterial and astringent properties, cleanse the skin, soothe inflammations and accelerate skin regeneration. This makes chebula an excellent support for the treatment of acne lesions.

It reduces seborrhea

Chebula works well in calming the scalp, as it soothes seborrhea and the accompanying itching. It also soothes problems with excessive secretion of sebum on the face.

Chebula almond extracts effectively support the condition of the skin, so it is worth taking a closer look at their effects and including them in your daily care.
