According to star moderator Tucker Carlson, America’s corporate press is paving the way to a one-party state in the USA. Carlson’s first video since his split from Fox News garnered millions of views in just a few hours.
Tucker Carlson has released a video of himself speaking for the first time since splitting from FoxNews sharply criticized the American news channels, stating that a “genuine debate” about important issues was “not allowed” in the US media.
In the video message he published on his Twitter channel on Wednesday evening, the former Foxhost a monologue deliberately resembling those on his long-running show Tucker Carlson Tonight. He even released the video at the same time as his earlier airtime.
At first, Carlson didn’t address his breakup directly FoxNews Earlier this week, however, he emphasized in the two-minute post that he realized “a few steps away from the noise” he was surrounded by “how many generally nice people”. And further:
“People who really care about what the truth is.”
In contrast, “a bunch of funny people” showed up. Carlson sharply criticized the mainstream media, noting “with some detachment” that most discussions on TV news programs are “irrelevant” and “incredibly stupid” while important issues go unmentioned. Colleagues who were not named “won’t be remembered in five years”.
In the way he knew and feared, Carlson specified his view of the US media landscape with the words:
“The undeniably big issues that will define our future go almost undiscussed — war, civil liberties, new scientific discoveries, demographic change, corporate power, natural resources. When was the last time you had a legitimate debate about heard any of these subjects? It was a long time ago; such debates are not allowed in the American media.”
He went on to say that both major political parties — Democrats and Republicans — as well as their donors in the US, “have reached consensus on what will serve them” and are now “actively working together” to prevent meaningful discussion. In his opinion, the American establishment has “given up the work of persuasion” and is now resorting to “violence” and “increasing censorship”. Tucker verbatim:
“Suddenly the United States looks like a one-party state.”
“It’s a depressing realization, but it doesn’t last,” Carlson said. The “current orthodoxies will not last” as they are “brain dead,” the moderator concludes, adding that “this moment is too ridiculous to last, so it won’t.” Finally, he tells his more than six million Twitter followers:
“When honest people speak what is true, calmly and without embarrassment, they become powerful. At the same time, the liars try to silence them, shrinking (in the process) and weakening. True things prevail.”
As long as there are Americans “who tell the truth, even if they are few, and as long as their words are heard,” there will be “hope,” Tucker Carlson concludes, without going into any further detail on future plans.
More than 10 million Twitter users had already listened to the statement on Thursday morning.
