Jorge Seguro Sanches, chairman of the parliamentary committee of inquiry into the management of TAP, confirmed the arrival of the documents requested from Fernando Medina that allegedly justify the dismissal for just cause of the former presidents of TAP, Christine Ourmières-Widener (former CEO) and Manuel Beja (former chairman). The deputies revealed that the information arrived on… CD.

“I have information that the information reached the commission. As you can understand, due to the fact that we are all in the auditions, I still don’t know exactly what, under what conditions and with what classification it arrived. But the information arrived, of course”, informed Jorge Seguro Sanches.

The promise to send the documents was made by the Minister of Finance.

A controversy over the documents in question grew after two ministers – Ana Catarina Mendes and Mariana Vieira da Silva – stated that the opinion could not be given because its disclosure “involves risks in the legal defense of the State’s position” and that Fernando Medina himself, after that, stated that the opinion does not exist and that he had not realized who fed the idea that it existed.
