What a conclusion: Ramon Zenhousen wins the last slalom of the year at the World Cup final in Soldeu (Andorra). Second is Lucas Braathen and third is Henrik Kristoffersen.
It is the second win of the season for the Valaisian, having previously won in Chamonix. Zenhäusler now has a total of four World Cup victories in slalom and is the second best Swiss slalom skier in history behind Daniel Yule (six victories).
Things went well for Marc Rochat too. The Swiss just missed the podium in fourth place, Loïc Meillard was thirteenth. Daniel Yule had a less good day. The slalom star retired. A bitter result for him, since he still had the chance to win the small crystal ball in the slalom before the race. Braathen now secures this ahead of Kristoffersen.
“I wanted to prove otherwise”
After the race, Yule said to SRF: “If I’m being completely honest, I’ve known in the past few days that these temperatures will be difficult for me.” It hurts at the moment. “Nevertheless, it was a good season for me.”
Meanwhile, Zenhäusler was overjoyed: “It’s wonderful when you look at my path.” Last season he still had problems with his back, then he got infected with Corona. «After that, experts predicted the end of my career, but that motivated me. I wanted to prove the opposite, »said the winner of the day.
