This too can take five to seven years to master.

Additional factors in learning a second language

In addition to the five stages, there are additional factors that we all need to consider in the process of acquiring a second language. For example, the age at which we begin to learn, because believe it or not, it can influence our command of the language.

The younger we are, the easier it is for us to learn a language due to brain plasticity.

Therefore, it is recommended to start learning a second language before puberty. Compared to children, adults learn language more systematically, following similar grammar rules and mathematical formulas. Children learn the language through the exhibition and its environment.

The environment also plays an important role in the acquisition of a language. If we are constantly exposed to a new language, we are more likely to learn it successfully.
