With the 2022/23 World Cup season, one or the other ski career came to an end.
Well-known names drew a line this winter, above all three-time Olympic champion Matthias Mayer. After his spontaneous resignation in December, the Carinthian can still speculate about a comeback.
With Maximilian Lahnsteiner and Thomas Dorner, two younger ÖSV athletes are also ending their careers.
On the women’s side, the ÖSV team will have to do without Nicole Schmidhofer in the future, Tamara Tippler will at least say goodbye to the baby break for the time being.
Internationally, the most prominent resignation is Beat Feuz, with the Swiss, another top downhill skier has retired. The same applies to the Frenchman Johan Clarey and the Americans Steven Nyman and Travis Ganong.
