More than 5,900 users continued this Sunday without electricity in the Buenos Aires Metropolitan Area (AMBA)according to data from the National Electricity Regulatory Entity (ENRE).
In the last update, at 12:05 p.m., it was indicated that there were a total of 5,915 users without electricity in the AMBA: 4,464 of the concession area Edesur and 1,451 of the Edenor concession area.
The most affected towns are Avellaneda, Almirantes Brown, Caseros, Ciudadela, Ezeiza, Hurlingham, Lanús, La Matanza, Lomas de Zamora, Moreno, Quilmes, Ramos Mejía, San Justo, San Miguel and San Martín.
While in the City of Buenos Aires, the neighborhoods with the highest number of power outages are Balvanera, Boedo, Caballito, Flores, La Paternal, Mataderos, Monserrat, Parque Patricios and Villa Devoto.
This Thursday, after several days of neighborhood protests due to the lack of energy, The National Government and the Government of Buenos Aires criminally denounced the company Edesur for “embezzlement of funds, fraud to the detriment of the public administration and abandonment of people”.
The ENRE controller, Walter Martello, anticipated for his part that he foresees a “extraordinary sanction against Edesur” due to the fact that “the cuts in the electric power service did not drop below 70,000 users in the last 10 days.” The statements came amid pressure from within the government coalition to nationalize Edesur.
