GUANAJUATO.- Two elements of the Celaya Municipal Police, Guanajuatowere victims of a bullet attack on the night of this Saturday; one of the policemen died while receiving medical care at a hospital.
According to the report of the Secretary of Citizen Security, the attack occurred after 9:30 p.m. this Saturday, March 18, on Río Bravo street, next to Parque Morelos, located in the heart of the downtown area of the city of Celaya.
The Security Secretariat reported that when police officers were patrolling in the downtown area, they were attacked by armed civilians, who apparently were riding a motorcycle.
Witnesses report hearing several gunshots.
The assaulted municipal police officers immediately requested the support of their colleagues.
Immediately, police personnel and paramedics from the Security Secretariat went to the scene, who located two injured police officers on the site. Both were transferred to a hospital for medical evaluation, but one of them died when he received help.
