The Polish ambassador to France said this Saturday that the country may enter the ukraine war, if Kiev fails to defend its independence. In an interview with the French channel LCI, Jan Emeryk Rosciszewski admitted this scenario, even saying that Warsaw “will have no other choice”.
“If Ukraine fails to defend its independence, we have no choice but to be forced into the war,” he said.
Declarations that suggest a hardening of the position of Poland, which has a large part of its border with Russia, and which, since the beginning of the war, has been one of the countries that most supports Ukraine.

Poland is one of 30 member states of NATO, so its involvement in a war with Russia could culminate in an extended conflict. Remember that the Atlantic Alliance has a defensive character, acting based on the article number 5which defines that an attack on one of the members is considered as an attack on all the others.
This means that NATO would not be forced to intervene in the war if Poland entered the conflict. A different case will be if Poland is the target of an attack on its soil, a scenario that should lead to an effective involvement of the Atlantic Alliance.
Moreover, in November 2022 a missile fell even in the city of Przewodów, Polish territory a few kilometers from Ukraine. In the wake of the case two people died, but NATO promptly decided not to understand the case as a deliberate Russian attack.
