Thanks to the different search bars that we have available in the WhatsApp and WhatsApp Web applications, we can find a specific word or phrase in the conversation history, as well as images and videos, among other things.
And since the end of last year, within WhatsApp Web Users are already allowed to quickly search their recent groups by entering a contact name, a feature that is very close to being available in the mobile version of WhatsApp as well.
The latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android, specifically 2.23.6.20, already allows this same functionality while searching for a contact.
As you can see in the screenshot provided by wabetainfoa new section is available when users search for contacts within the search bar, specifically a section called “common groups”.
Additional information about contacts
This gives users additional information when searching for contacts within the search bar allowing us to see the groups that we have in common with the contacts without having to open their chat information, to see the list of groups in common.
While this feature is being tested on certain users in the latest beta version of WhatsApp for Android, it is also being enjoyed by certain iOS beta testers, specifically in version 23.5.0.75.
This feature, which currently reaches a small set of beta users, is expected to reach the remaining users of mobile for the next few days.
