“From our place of responsibility and commitment, understanding the role of control and review of public funds, added to the scant information presented by the Municipal Executive, we find the capricious claim of said Declaration unjustified, without financial and accounting support,” said the PRO and the UCR.
For the opposition, the request is striking since if it goes forward, the municipality of Villarino would be the only one of the 135 districts of the Province of Buenos Aires to declare an Economic Emergency.
“The reduction of co-participating funds by the Government of the Province of Buenos Aires are distributable in percentage by Law, suggesting that the supposed ‘economic crisis’ would be the consequence of internal party politics, as well as poor execution of the Budget”, pointed out.
“Even proceeding quickly to cut expenses, in overtime, fuel, personnel, salaries and inputs taken to their minimum expression, even if this means the resentment of various services, with this level of income the Municipality will not be able to reach a balanced budget , that is, the expected income is insufficient to meet the basic services that the municipality has been providing to the community”, justified the mayor.
