Verena Sturm is a trained florist, but now the Salzburg native is taking off as a singer. Today the 28-year-old releases her self-produced debut single “So fed up”.
“My job as a florist can be perfectly combined with singing. I’m even allowed to put out my and my singing partner’s business cards in the flower shop. Some bridal couples actually ordered us to go with the flowers right away,” Verena Sturm said in an interview with “Krone”. She knew from a young age that she wanted to sing and be on stage. “Britney Spears has already shaped me. Although in the future I would like to go musically in the direction of dialect, like my role model Ina Regen,” says Sturm. She wrote her debut single “So fed up” herself and was also in charge of directing the accompanying video. “The song is about the fact that I’m fed up with not being completely free and not being able to fully exploit my potential.” However, the 28-year-old now knows how to use her creative possibilities skilfully: she manages herself completely. From organizing the video shoot to songwriting and planning the performance. This is how Verena Sturm made it to an audience of millions at the end of last year: she took part in the TV casting show “The Voice of Germany”. “It was an interesting experience for me.” In any case, she could get used to the big stage, says the young singer from Salzburg.
