The Sound of Eternity: A Krishna Das Concert in Auroville

Planning a new trip to India, we were lucky enough to be invited to a fascinating program: a concert by Krishna Das, the Mick Jagger of Hindu devotional songs. Who are we talking about? In the seventies -when his name was still Jeffrey Kagel- this North American seeker traveled to the mystical country, as many did at that time. And he made contact with the spiritual master Neem Karoli Baba (also a guru of his contemporary and friend Ram Dass). His life changed forever. He became his devotee and began a path not exempt from shadows until he found his vocation in sacred music. Particularly in the so-called “kirtans” (in Sanskrit “narrate, recite, count, describe” an idea or story inscribed in Indian religions).
