The judge releases Rafael Amargo on provisional release after his arrest for drug trafficking

The head of the Investigating Court number 2 of Alicante has decreed this Saturday the provisional release of Rafael Amargo (48 years)the dancer and choreographer arrested last Thursday in the same city for a alleged case of drug trafficking from several apartments in Madrid.

The detainee had appeared before the duty magistrate this noon. His statement has been taken, and after he passed through the courts, Bitter is already being formally investigated by a delite against public health a crime of attack against authority and two crimes of injurieswithout prejudice to further qualification.

According to sources from the Superior Court of Justice of the Valencian Community, the judge has imposed as a precautionary measure the obligation to appear on the 1st and 15th of each month before the Investigating Court No. 27 of Madrid, which is competent in this investigation as it has and open cause for these facts. She has also informed him of the prohibition to leave national territory.

The judge has denied the evasible provisional prison with bail of 6,000 euros that the Public Prosecutor requested for the detainee. She understands, the same sources point out, that she does not attend such a high risk of escape that this measure is essentialand there are other alternatives such as biweekly appearances and the prohibition to leave the national territory.

In this sense, the magistrate justifies her decision that the person under investigation has already withdrawn his passport by another Investigating Court in Madrid, where he is making biweekly presentations without any incident being recorded, and has roots in Spain, where he is a public figure, which which makes it difficult for him to evade the action of Justice.

At the moment he was captured by two plainclothes officers, Amargo resisted, and allegedly began to threaten them with death, including kicking, punching, and biting at least one of the police officers.
