One of the rural entities that make up the Liaison Table decided to carry out a mobilization in the short term to the City of Buenos Aires to claim and warn about the economic losses that the drought will cause, and also to request extraordinary aid from the national Government.
This is the Argentine Agrarian Federation, which brought together its Board of Directors and from now on will define the date on which the claim will be made, after dialogue with the rest of the entities in the field. The producers will concentrate in Plaza de Mayo, the Ministry of Economy and the National Congress.
Carlos Achetoni, president of the entity, confirmed the trade union action measure that they will carry out. In this regard, he said that it was decided “in a short time to bring the emergencies, needs and demands to the National Congress and the national Government, given such a difficult situation for our producers, who, understanding the economic moment they are going through, will invite them to join from all over the country. We intend to reach the representatives of different productions and regions of the country with all the producers who can accompany us to the different political and governmental bodies with a date to be set in these days, after dialogue with the other entities”.
For his part, Marcelo Banchi, vice president of the Agrarian Federation, said in statements to the press that “the situation is extreme and there is no room for more. The producer cannot continue in this way, without having concrete help from the national government and without having any respite from the AFIP. And this is something we have been asking for for a long time. We need financing and that the AFIP does not charge us taxes even for this year. We have not had concrete results in this sense, and we have defined that in the next few days we are going to concentrate in Buenos Aires, in front of the Government House, in the Ministry of Economy and also in Congress, with clear proposals”, according to A24.
The last time the camp mobilized to CABA was in April of last year, when from different sectors and without the adhesion of the Liaison Table, a tractor-trailer was carried out along Avenida del Libertador and ended in Plaza de Mayo, where before a significant number of producers and citizens read a document with criticisms and claims to the Government.
