The Ministry of Equality has put out to tender the hiring of a campaign to “transmit contagious joy” to the Spanish after the approval of the Trans Law, which allows you to change your sex freely, without the need to provide medical or psychological reports or submit, as up to now, to to hormonal treatments. The law, which has been rejected by the medical community and judges, in addition to a part of feminism, allows minors, from the age of 12, to request a sex change in the registry.
The campaign, “on sexual and gender diversity and against LGTBI” -with a cost of 121,000 euros- will be developed especially with a view to the next Spanish Presidency of the European Union, which will take place in the second half of the year. “New Spain”

Controversy
The Trans Law, which has recently entered into force, allows the free change of sex in the Registry, with no other requirement than the will of the interested party. From 12 to 14 years old, the minor will have to have a judicial authorization and from 14 to 16, he will have to be assisted by his parents. However, in case of disagreement with the parents, the law indicates that a “judicial defender” will be appointed, who will act in favor of the best interests of the minor. From the age of 16, the registry modification will be totally free.
The rule, highly controversial, has generated several controversies. For example, it does not have mechanisms to prosecute fraud -and prevent, for example, its intentional use in competitive examinations or bonuses- nor control to prevent men with a history of sexual or gender violence from changing their sex in the registry. This was reported by several feminist organizations to the Ministry of Equality during the drafting of the law, integrated into the Alliance Against the Erasure of Women. This platform, which brings together historical feminists of the PSOE, claimed to include in the articles some filter for «prevent exploitation by sexist aggressors”.
