In 2004, a 21-year-old rose Loreenactually Lorine Zineb Noka Talhaoui, into the Idol Jury to be put to the test. During an audition, she performed Alicia Keys“If I ain’t got you”.
The record label mogul Peter Swartling was convinced to say the least and Loreen moved on. She finished fourth in Idol.
– If I hadn’t been there, I wouldn’t have understood what I needed. I found out what I stood for. I turned down all the offers afterwards and didn’t think what I heard sounded good. I had lost my soul, said Loreen in an interview with the newspaper Chic.
We are used to seeing Loreen with long dark hair and bangs, which could be seen as one of the artist’s signatures.
However, if you have followed the artist from the beginning, you may remember when Loreen stepped into Idol for the first time, then she had curly hair and a nose piercing.
Loreen participated in Melodifestivalen 2011
She let her curls grow before she came up with a completely new look in Melodifestivalen 2011. Then she appeared in a red creative outfit.
Loreen competed with “My Heart Is Refusing Me”, and then she made it to Second Chance. Then she had mirror-gloss black hair with bangs.
Loreen won the heart of Europe with Euphoria
A year later, she once again took part in the Melodifestivalen and won the big prize. The gold songbird was hers! Then she competed with the song “Euphoria” which she then won by far with the Eurovision Song Contest in Azerbaijan.
Then the hair was a little longer and frizzier. The bangs remained and the “Euphoria look” is probably what many associate Loreen with when it comes to her appearance.

After the big win, it took a few years until Loreen appeared in the music competition again. In 2017, she made a comeback with the song “Statements”. But then, to the surprise of many, Loreen went out in Second Chance.
Then she reappeared with long hair and the bangs were a thing of the past! For several years, however, there had been rumors that Loreen has a wig and when she was interviewed in Nemo Hedén’s podcast she answered speech:
– I often get it. There is quite a lot of hair, extensions and such. You are welcome to ask that question, says Loreen and laughs.
From long bangs to stubble
When Loreen entered the red carpet for the Guldbaggegalan 2018 at Cirkus in Stockholm, the long hair was gone. Then she rocked a short, blonde hairstyle.

When Loreen got the honor of participating in one of many music lovers’ favorite shows “So much better” in 2020, she appeared in a brand new look.
This time the long hair was back – and now she was rocking braids instead.
Loreen’s old signature is making a comeback
The tousled, long hair and bangs made a grand appearance when Loreen took to the stage in Melodifestivalen 2023. In the long flow of hair, longer braids were also visible, which in combination with the long hair brings to mind a powerful being – because surely Loreen is a work of art?
