Four ski tourers injured in an avalanche in Salzburg

As the state police in Salzburg announced, three people were carried away and partially buried by steep rocky terrain. One person came to a standstill above the demolitions.

The rescue workers were alerted by the two members of the group who were not carried away. The injured, between the ages of 34 and 54, were flown by rescue helicopters to the Zell am See hospital and were hospitalized there. The six experienced ski mountaineers left the Vorderkaserklamm car park shortly after 7 a.m. to get to the 2,467 meter high Grießner Hochbrett via the Große Saugrube. At 1:45 p.m., the avalanche released just below the summit.
