Five teenagers walked on an unequipped beach on the Protva River near Obninsk in the Kaluga region. Because of the warming, the ice cracked under their feet and the guys ended up in cold water. One of them got out on his own, two were saved by a man passing by. The other two boys did not manage to escape. Survivors in a state of shock were admitted to a local hospital.
On this fact, the investigating authorities are conducting a procedural check. It is known that the dead schoolchildren were 11 and 12 years old.
“Investigators of the Investigative Committee of Russia are conducting an inspection of the scene, establishing the circumstances of the incident, the living conditions and upbringing of minors,” the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the Kaluga Region reports.
