Qualcomm Announces Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 Processor for Affordable Smartphones
Announced mobile processor Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, designed for mid-range smartphones. About it informs edition of Digital Trends.
The chip is based on a four-nanometer process technology – the company noted that it provides performance comparable to the flagship Snapdragon processors of the eighth series. The device has a Qualcomm Kryo processor, which has a maximum frequency of 2910 megahertz, and a Qualcomm Adreno graphics accelerator, which, compared to its predecessor, has twice the performance. The energy efficiency of the chip is improved by 13 percent.
Designed for affordable smartphones, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 received support for Auto Variable Rate Shading, Volumetric Rendering and Snapdragon Sound technologies. The powerful chip also supports 200-megapixel cameras and 4K video recording.
The company noted that using the Snapdragon X62 5G modem, data download speeds can reach 4.4 gigabits per second. The processor should also provide faster Wi-Fi and 5G connectivity.
Qualcomm said that the new processor will appear in smartphones, the first of which will be announced before the end of March. It is specified that the chip will be used in devices worth 400-600 dollars or about 30-45 thousand rubles.
