On the 23rd of March, the chef Julien Montbabut will bring to Portugal for the first time the chef French Nicholas Fontaine to celebrate the first star of the Maison Albar group in national territory, which together with the French countryman Benoît Sinthon and the chef Portuguese Pedro Pena Bastoswill prepare a star menu at Monumental Dinner.

The event, with a strong emphasis on the French matrix, is a tribute to Portuguese products and flavors. “We are very happy with the attribution of the Michelin Star, which marks our debut in this recognized guide. Being the first star of the group in Portugal – and mine in this country – is undoubtedly an incentive to continue our work, and celebrate what we have done in Portugal”shares Julien Montbabut, adding: “O chef Benoît is also my fellow countryman, he is another professional colleague that I admire for the enormous work in valuing the local product, which he has been developing in Portugal for several years. But my last years in the country have been ones of discovery, with many visits to the territory to discover the best national flavors and the best that is produced here, so it made perfect sense to reinforce this connection and invite a chef such as Pedro, who I also admire, and who has positioned Portuguese gastronomy at a high level”.
The exclusive tasting menu will feature 12 moments, starting at 7:00 pm with a welcome drink It is amouse bouchefollowed by the presentation of chefs guests, in the library of the Hotel Le Monumental Palace, continuing afterwards in the gastronomic restaurant Le Monument.
The Monumental Dinner costs €290 per person and includes wine pairing at the expense of the sommelier Diogo Sanches Pereira and wine partner Niepoort, with references of excellence to accompany this unique menu.
