After the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin, Bolivian ex-head of state Evo Morales called the United States “the real war criminal.” Morales considers the Hague court’s decision to be politically motivated.
Former Bolivian President Evo Morales sharply criticized the decision of the International Criminal Court (ICC) to issue an arrest warrant for Vladimir Putin on Saturday night. On Twitter, the left-wing politician described the order for the arrest of the Russian President as void. Morales made pointed out that the decision of the court in The Hague was made a few days before the visit of the Chinese head of state Xi Jinping, who wanted to create conditions for a peaceful settlement of the Ukraine conflict.
“We express our full solidarity with our brother Putin and point out that this political and coercive accusation of alleged criminal ‘deportations’ aims to maintain the state of war between the two European sister nations in order to satisfy the armament of the USA and NATO do.”
On behalf of all free peoples fighting against US interference, Morales condemned the arrest warrant against Putin and spoke of a global “campaign to stigmatize the Russian brother people” initiated by the USA.
“The real war criminal and criminal against humanity is the United States.”
On Friday, the ICC ordered the arrest of the Russian head of state. The court in The Hague justified this decision with the alleged deportation of children from Ukraine to Russia. There is reason to believe that Putin bears criminal responsibility for the crimes listed, since he committed them directly or failed to prevent them through lack of control. The same measure was taken against the Russian Commissioner for Children’s Rights, Maria Lvova-Belova.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov called the ICC decision unacceptable. Like some other governments, Moscow does not recognize the jurisdiction of this court. Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that the decisions of the ICC had no meaning for Russia. The Russian UN Ambassador Wassili Nebensja described the court in The Hague as biased, politically committed and incompetent. Once more it proved its inferiority.
