FC Bayern Munich has to assert itself against Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga title race on Sunday (5.30 p.m.). Both clubs have recently shown themselves to be in good form with four competitive wins in a row. It is also the meeting of the last two remaining Bundesliga teams in the European Cup. Before the international break and the immediately following top game against Borussia Dortmund, Bayern want to make no mistake in the fight for the next championship title.
For the Munich team, there will be a reunion with Leverkusen coach Xabi Alonso. The Spaniard played for the German record champions from 2014 to 2017. It is unclear who will replace injured striker Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting at Munich. Sadio Mané is considered a promising candidate.
