In statements to podcast from Comic Relief, the Prince of Wales said he was happy that his mother, Princess Diana, having introduced him to the reality of social causes from a very young age, but William guarantees that his mother would be “disappointed” if she were alive. Following the conversation, the eldest son of Carlos and Diana said that the mother would be sad to realize that, after so many years, there has still not been enough development in supporting people in a homeless situation.
“My mum introduced me to homelessness at a very young age and I’m glad she did. I think she would be disappointed that no progress has been made in combating this phenomenon and preventing it since she became interested and involved in the cause”, mentioned, in a video recorded for Red Nose Day.
In the video, William also recognizes the help that Comic Relief represents to many charities, by offering them a platform that gives them a voice.
It should be remembered that Diana of Wales, who died in August 1997, was an active voice in the defense of countless social causes not only in the United Kingdom, but also in many other countries, such as, for example, the fight against mines in Angola, a country he visited in 1997, a few months before the deadly accident in Paris.
