UPCN passed over the Chilean champion and awaits results to see if it advances

UPCN San Juan Volleyball closed the regular phase of the South American Club Championship, which is played in Araguari, Brazil, with a win. The people from San Juan defeated Club Murano, the Chilean champion, by 3-0 (25-11, 25-8 and 25-15), in a match corresponding to Group C and now they will have to wait for the rest of the games to find out if they can classify as better second.

UPCN was clearly superior to Murano and its victory was never in jeopardy. Brajkovic had the entire attack front available, favored because the rival did not put up too much resistance in the block.

Gabriel Santos was the top scorer of the game with 21 points, escorted by Manuel Armoa Morel, with 12. In addition, UPCN hurt with the serve (7 points in this way), while the center-backs added strongly against the Chilean champion, who played for the first time the South American.

Murano, who has some members of the trans-Andean team in his squad and had his striker in Tomás Parraguirre with 11 goals, could not find the key to complicate the San Juan people, who did not lower the intensity and resolved the game in 65 minutes.

UPCN, who had lost on the first date against Itambé Minas, did what they had to do, which was to win in straight sets. In this way, he was second in his area with three points, behind Minas who added six. As the Argentine champion does not depend on himself, he will have to wait how the rest of the groups are resolved for the comparison with those who also finish second.

The semifinals will be played this Saturday, as will the matches for the relocation of 5th and 7th place.
