Registration is now open for the 17th Canary Islands Absolute Cooking Championship-Gran Premio Cabildo de Tenerife, which will take place at GastroCanarias 2023. This contest is aimed exclusively at professional chefs residing in the Archipelago of legal age. To participate, those interested must register together with an assistant in the event website before the end of the month. Each participant must send their curriculum and a recipe with goat meat.
A budget of 30 euros to prepare the main recipe of the contest
Participants will have to overcome different challenges to win the competition and become the best chef or cook this year. The first of them will be the day before the test, when the participants go to the El Corte Inglés supermarket to learn about the secret product with which they will have to prepare the ‘common dish’. At El Corte Inglés, the finalists will have to quickly think about their recipe and buy everything they need to execute it right there, with a maximum budget of 30 euros. There will be 50 basic ingredients for cooking.
Aquanaria sea bass will be present in the dishes of the chef contest
This year, the Aquanaria sea bass is the Official Supplier of the Gastronomic Fair and will be part of the common pantry. The finalists will be able to use this premium product in the two competition dishes, although it can only be the main ingredient in the free dish, which must also be prepared using the surprise box that will be delivered to them on the day of the championship.

The chilli pepper: the pastry chef Jordi Roca recovers his voice
The media are not used to giving good news. But when it touches you have to celebrate it. Yesterday the journalist from El Pais, Paz Álvarez, revealed that the pastry chef Jordi Roca, the youngest of the Roca brothers from El Celler de Can Roca, had recovered his voice after more than seven years of suffering from spasmodic dysphonia. I still remember him at a lunch, organized by BBVA, in a hotel in Las Palmas, where he was seen suffering from having to make an effort to speak to the diners. Today, says Paz Álvarez, she reads her daughter stories. As we said at the beginning, good news and joy for everyone.
