Qualcomm just made official the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2, its most ambitious proposal for the mid-range. One of the most relevant points in this type of presentation is not simply seeing the SoC specification sheet, but analyze those technologies to which it opens the door. Quad HD+ resolution, high-performance cores, and nearly double the performance boost over the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1.

The future of the mid-range promises, and a lot
Gone are the times when the mid-range was low on power. The new Snapdragon 7 Gen 2 comes with eight cores: a great Prime core (Cortex X2) at 2.91 Hz, the great news that we also have three high-performance cores (Performance, Cortex A710) and four low-power cores ( Efficiency, Cortex A510). Recent cores accompanied by the Adreno 725 GPU.
According to Qualcomm, this processor practically doubles its predecessor in performance, being much more efficient
With these improvements, Qualcomm promises 50% better performance than its predecessor in CPU, 13% higher energy efficiency and behavior in both the GPU and the AI engine that doubles that of the previous processor. This has not been a potentially minor revision, Qualcomm has given everything to achieve brutal behavior in its SoC. The manufacturing process, by the way, is four nanometers, lithograph by TSMC.
The modem is once again the Snapdragon X62 5G, although with some news related to gaming. There are also improvements to the 18-bit Qualcomm Spectra ISP, capable of simultaneous photography with all three lenses, as well as supporting photos up to 200 MP and 18-bit RAW files.
In addition to these technical improvements, the processor has support for LPDDR5 RAM, Quick Charge 5, Quad HD+ resolution screens at 120 Hz, WiFi 6E and Bluetooth 5.3. High-end specifications on phones that should come at somewhat more affordable prices.
From Qualcomm they assure that the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 is imminent, and that we will see it this month in Redmi and Realme terminals. The beginning of an even more ambitious mid-premium range.
