Qualcomm : Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 arrive sur les smartphones dès ce mois-ci

Qualcomm comes to announce the arrival on the market of its latest mobile platform which will equip mid-range smartphones and even some high-end smartphones. Smartphones equipped with the new Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 should arrive as early as this month. Qualcomm’s press release specifically states that both Redmi and Realme are expected to announce smartphones using the Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2.

Qualcomm is touting a long list of improvements brought by the 7+ Gen 2 chip. This ranges from increased CPU and GPU performance to a better camera experience – especially when it comes to low angle photography. light and 4K HDR video – to mmWave and Sub6 5G connectivity thanks to the Snapdragon X62 5G modem, as well as Wi-Fi 6E which is part of Qualcomm’s FastConnect 6900 chip.

According to Qualcomm, the increase in CPU performance from the 7+ Gen 2 represents a 50% improvement, with an overall gain in power efficiency of 13%, which should lead to improved battery life. As for battery life, the 7+ Gen 2 supports Quick Charge 5, which can go from 0 to 50 percent in five minutes.

The Snapdragon 7+ Gen 2 supports two active SIM cards, a first for this series of chips from Qualcomm. Gaming enhancements include support for 120fps on a QHD+ display, as well as Qualcomm aptX game audio and in-game chat.

Qualcomm also unveiled new AI enhancements for the 7+ Gen 2. According to the chipmaker, the new processor uses a ‘supercharged’ Qualcomm AI Engine that can handle tasks such as video upscaling. from 1080p to 4K and improved zoom capabilities when recording video while maintaining image sharpness and detail.

Other camera-related enhancements include support for camera modules up to 200 megapixels.
