Putin assigned the names “Guards” to the 559 air regiment and the 77 anti-aircraft missile brigade

Russian President Vladimir Putin signed decrees on conferring the honorary title “Guards” to two combat formations. Relevant Documents published on the portal of legal information.

The 559th Bomber Aviation Regiment and the 77th Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade were noted for mass heroism and courage, fortitude and courage shown by personnel in combat operations to protect the Fatherland and state interests in armed conflicts.

On March 9, Putin assigned the status of Guards to the 71st Anti-Aircraft Missile Brigade and the 266th Separate Assault Aviation Regiment. The servicemen of the divisions noted by the president also showed mass heroism, courage, fortitude and courage, the documents say.

Earlier, Putin said that Russia was facing direct threats to its security and sovereignty. At the same time, he stressed that he sees the readiness of the country’s inhabitants to defend their future.
