Lance Reddick, actor of 'The Wire,' 'Fringe,' and 'John Wick,' dies at 60

The actor Lance Reddick, known for playing Lieutenant Cedric Daniels in the series The Wire and recently seen in the film franchise john wickhas died at 60 yearsas reported by TMZ.

Born in Baltimore in June 1962, the magnetic actor was accustomed to putting himself in the shoes of charismatic authority figures, such as the memorable character he played during the five seasons of David Simon’s series, Charon in the franchise starring Keanu Reaves, Phillip Broyles in fringe or Irving in Bosch.

Reddick also appeared lostwhere he played Matthew Abaddon, an employee of Charles Widmore, in several episodes, after being forced to turn down the role of Mr. Eko, for which he had been initially cast, due to scheduling problems with The Wire.

In addition to being a musician, he also voiced video game characters like Sylens in Horizon Zero Dawn and Horizon Forbidden West. He will posthumously appear as the Greek god Zeus in the upcoming series Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Disney+ adaptation of the book series of the same name. Also in the movie White Men Can’t Jump and ballerinaJohn Wick spin-off.

Reddick studied at the Friends School in Baltimore. As a teenager, he studied music at Peabody Preparatory Institute and a summer program teaching music theory and composition at the Walden School. The study classical music composition at the Eastman School of Music at the University of Rochester, where he received a Bachelor of Music.

In the 1980s he moved to Boston, Massachusetts. In the early 1990s, Reddick attended the Yale School of Drama, where she earned an MFA in 1994. In 2007, she released her debut album entitled Contemplations & Remembrances.

Earlier this week, Reddick was promoting the movie John Wick 4, and was scheduled to appear on the morning show hosted by Kelly Clarkson.

TMZ reported that her “body was discovered at her Studio City home on Friday morning around 9:30.” His cause of death has not been released, “but appears to be from natural causes.
