The installation of video surveillance begins in the center of Naples. Dozens of cameras from Chiaia to the historic center. Two months of work to install the posts. All the streets where they will be located.
Against the violent nightlife in Naples the installation of security cameras begins. Starting Monday, dozens of poles with electronic eyes will be installed throughout the neighborhood from the area of the “little bars”, to piazza dei Martiri, up to via Chiaia, piazza del Plebiscito, piazza Trieste e Trento and via Toledo. The “Security for the Unesco area of the city of Naples Chiaia district” project is finally coming to life Campania Region to counter the phenomenon of malamovida, characterized by fights, stabbings, robberies and stretches, which often involve children, even very young.
The project had been announced and strongly desired by the governor of Campania, Vincent DeLuca, and then approved by all the institutions. Starting Monday, March 20, dozens of completely new cameras will be installed on as many posts in the street. Other cameras, such as those of the Prefecture circuit, will be integrated and implemented, to have total control of the territory.

The new cameras placed on poles will be installed in the following streets:
- via Nardones, piazza Trieste e Trento, via Nardones-salita Sant’Anna di Palazzo, piazza Trieste e Trento-San Carlo car parks, Royal palace, via San Carlo, side of the San Carlo theater, via Verdi, via Vittorio Emanuele III, via Filangieri di Candida Gonzaga, via Santa Brigida, via Chiaia, via Cesario Console, via Acton near Mascalzone latino, via dei Mille, rampe Brancaccio, via Nicola Nisco, piazza Amedeo.
The cameras that will be integrated and implemented, however, are located in these streets:
- via Toledo, via Carlo De Cesare, piazza del Plebiscito corner of the Prefecture, piazzetta Carolina, rampe Paggeria, piazza dei Martiri, via Alabardieri, largo Vasto a Chiaia, via Carducci, via dei Mille, via san Pasquale.
