In the 25th round of the German Bundesliga, the game between Gladbach and Bremen ended 2-2. Both teams remain stuck in the middle of the table.
In the first half, it’s mainly the Gladbachers who come up with bigger chances. Thuram fails twice alone in front of the Werder goalkeeper Zetterer (22nd and 42nd). The foals also determine the game over long periods, but cannot take the lead.
Gladbach meets shortly after the break
Shortly after half-time it is again striker Marcus Thuram who puts Gladbach in front. After a pass from Jonas Hofmann, the Frenchman makes a strong start and finishes flat to take the lead (48′).
Borussia then became dangerous with a Hofmann free-kick (59′).
In the 61st minute, Zetterer made a strong foot save in a duel with Gladbach striker Thuram.
In this phase, the Gladbachers clearly dominate with a lot of ball possession. The away team, on the other hand, is defensively well within its own half.
Compensation thanks to Austrians
But then something comes out of nowhere to compensate. An Austrian is involved.
In the 63rd minute, ÖFB legionnaire Romano Schmid came on at Werder. A few moments later, the Styrian serves Marvin Ducksch with a fantastic through pass. The striker cornered Gladbach keeper Omlin and pushed in to equalize (65′).
Goals from both sides in the closing stages
In the 73rd minute, the home team managed to take the lead again. After a switch situation, Stindl comes to an end. Zetterer can still parry this. Florian Neuhaus comes to an end on the sixteenth and converts to 2:1, which is worth seeing.
In the 89th minute, Marvin Duksch managed to equalize again after assisting the Füllkrug. The striker converts from the penalty area to the bottom right corner.
Due to Gladbach’s increased chances, Werder’s point win at the end of the day was a bit fortunate. At Gladbach, Austria’s Hannes Wolf came on in the 85th minute.
After the game, Borussia are in 10th place with 30 points. They are nine points short of the European Cup places. Bremen are equal on points in 11th intermediate place.
