The two companies now share the portfolio of properties for sale and lease in four cities in the country: São Paulo, Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Porto Alegre. In this way, whoever accesses the QuintoAndar platform will be able to access the properties listed by Lopes and vice versa. Together, they have more than 400,000 rental properties.
In an interview with EXAME Invest, the companies explained that the measure aims to increase the liquidity of the real estate market. “The partnership impacts the important links in our market. The consumer benefits from the increased exposure of properties, facilitating purchase, sale and rent. Brokers and our partners will also be more likely to close deals because the number of available properties has increased”, highlighted Thais Galli, General Manager of QuintoAndar.
Both companies have a robust network of real estate agents. Lopes has more than 180 franchises in more than 20 Brazilian states. QuintoAndar, on the other hand, launched a partnership with real estate agents in May last year and allows companies in the sector and brokers to list their properties on the platform at no cost. Matheus Fabrício, executive director of Lopes explains that the chains will remain independent and each with its own strategy, but sharing the property portfolio.
The real estate sector in the country
The partnership has an initial term of one year and comes at a time when the real estate market is paying attention. The sector, which has warmed up since the coronavirus pandemic, felt the increase in interest rate and inflation, which ended up eating consumer income.
“We have a cyclical market and very impacted by high interest rates. This also impacts on the real estate credit scenario, which is a great lever. We know that the market is sovereign. But initiatives like this and more strategic work make those who participate in this ecosystem manage to be more productive than the market average.”
