Evicted 11 people from an urbanization in Calafell due to a fire

The Mossos d’Esquadra have evicted 11 people from the Mas Mel de Calafell urbanization, in the province of Tarragona, due to its proximity to the fire that affected the Escarnosa mountain this Tuesday.

Civil Protection have reported that the evicted they have left the houses with their private vehicles.

For its part, Red Creu has explained that they have put on pre-alert to the Immediate Emergency Response team and have moved the Mobile Operations Center to the affected area.

Likewise, the chief of support for the Generalitat Fire Department in the fire, Inspector Miquel López, explained that a “long and intense night” awaits them working to extinguish the flames.

Speaking to TV3, López explained that one flank of the fire had hit the Bellamar and Mas Mel urbanizations, although has not affected any houses.

“Tonight we will be working because there is an episode of wind all nightand the objective is that the flanks of the fire do not open up and do not affect more urbanizations,” he added.
