The next cold front will move across Switzerland on Tuesday.
On Monday morning there will still be some precipitation in Switzerland, but then it will quickly become friendlier and with up to 20 degrees it will be spring-like mild. It will be warmest in Northwestern Switzerland with up to 22 degrees. However, it often remains cloudy there. Anyone looking for the sun is better off in Eastern Switzerland. Here the temperatures are a bit lower at 18 degrees.
However, the spring fever is only short-lived: the first clouds appear in the evening and it gets stormy. In the mountain valleys, gusts of up to 100 km/h are possible. During the night there will be widespread rain, thunder and lightning are also possible.
Snow down to the lowlands?
On Tuesday, temperatures will drop significantly and there will often be precipitation. The maximum temperatures are around eleven degrees and the snow line drops from 1300 meters to 800 meters. It will be even more wintry on Wednesday morning: the snow line is falling and flakes are possible down to the lowlands.
According to MeteoSwiss, up to 80 centimeters of fresh snow are possible in the mountains. In the lowlands, the amount of fresh snow varies between 1 and 10 centimetres.
However, spring is already making a comeback on Thursday and the temperatures will rise to 13 degrees, on Friday even to 17 degrees. There will also be plenty of sunshine and it will remain dry.
