"They climbed over the wall and crossed the tracks": 15-year-old boys hit and killed by a train

They would have climbed over a wall that divides the state road from the railway and then cross the tracks: this is what was told by some witnesses of the railway accident in which two 15-year-old boys died in Berbenno (Sondrio).

Two 15-year-old boys have been run over and killed by a train late yesterday afternoon, Sunday 12 March. The episode occurred in the station of San Pietro, a hamlet of Berbenno (Sondrio). the victims were called, as reported by the newspaper The Corriere della Sera, Ajeti Meriton and Manuel Gabriel Tejada Reyes. The two little boys would cross the tracks without using the underpass.

Neither of the two would have had a cell phone in hand or headphones in their ears: “A tragedy that has no precedent. They were a few meters from the underpass,” said the mayor of Berbenno Valerio Fumasoni, who rushed to the scene.
